The Royal Palace as a Memory Palace

Exhibition photo: The Royal Palace as a Memory Palace

Scientist Dr. Kasper Bormans and the artist duo Unik-ID are designing the interactive exhibition “The Royal Palace as a Memory Palace” for the Mirror Hall. It centers on the theme of communication in dementia. Dementia affects not only the person themselves, but also those close to them: the “shadow persons.” We are all “fellow walkers.” The focus of the exhibition shifts from connections between brain cells to connections between people. This walk through the Mirror Hall brings the shadow persons out of the shadows. These people are not only bearers of burden, but above all creators of connection. Good communication arises in resonance: moving along in the rhythm of the other. The Mirror Hall invites people to mirror one another. While waiting for the miracle pill, fellow human beings remain the best medicine.
